The role
Supabase is looking for an engineer to build and run its Compute platform, a microVM runtime alongside Edge Functions. You'll work in Rust and TypeScript and join an on-call rotation.
What you'll do
- Architect and build the Supabase Compute platform on Firecracker microVMs
- Add monitoring, alerting and OpenTelemetry tracing to improve latency and reliability
- Contribute upstream to Firecracker, Deno and other open-source projects
- Integrate Compute with Auth, Postgres, Storage and Realtime
- Improve local development and debugging of Compute through the Supabase CLI

Must-haves
- 5+ years of backend or systems engineering
- Strong Rust and TypeScript
- Experience with Firecracker, V8 Isolates, Deno or similar isolation tech
- Running infrastructure at scale: Kubernetes, AWS, Cloudflare Workers or Redis
- Willingness to join an on-call rotation
Nice to have
- Built developer-facing CLIs or front-end tooling on top of infrastructure products
