The role
Supabase is hiring Engineering Managers to lead teams across its backend, platform and database work, matched to a team after you've talked. You'll shape a role that's new to the company, covering people, delivery and hiring.
What you'll do
- Run 1:1s, performance management and onboarding for your direct reports
- Own the hiring plan and act as Hiring Manager for your team
- Own the team's roadmap, intake and weekly updates in Linear and Slack
- Train as an Incident Commander and lead blameless post-incident reviews
- Raise risks and tradeoffs early and join design discussions
What they're looking for
Must-haves
- 5+ years of engineering background, credible with engineers on complex systems
- 3+ years managing remote engineering teams
- Experience managing teams at a cloud, SaaS or developer tools company
- Experience leading globally distributed teams working async across time zones
- Track record of performance management and difficult conversations
Nice to have
- Experience with developer tools or databases
