The role
Canonical needs a cost accounting leader to build scalable, highly automated cost recognition and review processes under IFRS. You'll lead a growing team and report to the Global Financial Controller.
What you'll do
- Design scalable cost management, allocation and reporting processes with cross-team partners
- Drive NetSuite process and configuration improvements to automate the cost life cycle
- Review the cost recognition impact of non-standard expenses
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of cost and systems accountants
- Write accounting memos and act as auditor liaison on purchase-to-pay
What they're looking for
Must-haves
- CPA, ACCA or equivalent with strong technical accounting and IFRS experience
- Detailed knowledge of IFRS 16, IFRS 18 and SaaS and services accounting rules
- Leadership or management experience
- Experience managing cost accounting processes and operational expenses
- Able to travel twice a year for company events up to two weeks long
Nice to have
- NetSuite or similar ERP and operational finance systems experience
- Public company reporting and revenue accounting experience
- Software engineering or data analytics background
