The role
Customer.io is hiring a senior backend engineer to design and run distributed Go systems behind its messaging platform. You'll own work from schema design through deployment and monitoring, including an on-call rotation.
What you'll do
- Design and build distributed systems in Go for messaging at scale
- Own problems end to end, from architecture and schema to deployment
- Debug issues and deliver reliable solutions across teams
- Join the on-call rotation to support the systems you build
- Use AI agents for multi-file changes and verify their output
