The role
Pliant is moving its 100+ person tech organisation to a shared agentic framework, and you'll own the infrastructure underneath it. You'll report to the CTO and work with the Developer Experience team.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain shared agentic tooling: skills, agents, lints and eval runners
- Build evals and certification so teams can prove a harness change is better
- Move stable rule-based steps out of prompts into platform checks
- Run feedback loops: collect friction, fix causes and add regression tests
- Drive adoption by pairing with teams, training people and measuring outcomes
What they're looking for
Must-haves
- Daily hands-on use of agentic tools like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor
- Agentic tooling you built that other engineers use, such as MCP servers or hooks
- LLM evaluation and context engineering experience
- 7+ years of production software engineering, including developer tooling
- Strong Python, git and GitHub; comfortable reading Java and Kotlin
Nice to have
- Experience in a regulated environment such as payments or banking
- Security engineering background
- Maintained an open-source project
