The role
Kestra needs a hands-on lead to own Kestra Cloud, its managed SaaS, from Beta to GA in 2027. You'll set the architecture and SLOs and ship with two SREs.
What you'll do
- Own the target architecture of Kestra Cloud on GCP, from Beta to GA
- Write design docs and RFCs, and defend trade-offs on cost and isolation
- Automate the customer instance lifecycle with Terraform, ArgoCD and GitHub Actions
- Build observability and run on-call, runbooks and blameless postmortems
- Lead two SREs while staying hands-on, and drive FinOps and SOC 2 hardening
What they're looking for
Must-haves
- 8+ years in SRE, platform or infrastructure, 2+ leading technical direction
- Deep production Kubernetes experience running fleets of clusters
- Strong Google Cloud skills: GKE, IAM, VPC, load balancing (AWS or Azure won't substitute)
- Expert Terraform for many identical customer environments
- Real on-call and incident experience, plus SaaS operations with meaningful SLOs
Nice to have
- Running untrusted user code with sandboxing such as gVisor or node pool isolation
- Built a fleet control plane with operators, Crossplane or GKE Fleet
- SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit exposure from the infrastructure side
