The role
Supabase needs an engineer to package OrioleDB with Nix, run its release lifecycle and improve CI/CD. You'll co-own its integration into the Supabase product and fix production issues in customer deployments.
What you'll do
- Package software into the supabase/postgres repo using Nix flakes
- Manage OrioleDB releases, including major, minor and extension upgrades
- Expand GitHub Actions, CI/CD and release tooling for developer self-service
- Fix production issues in customer deployments before they spread
- Co-own the integration of OrioleDB into the Supabase product
What they're looking for
Must-haves
- 3+ years with PostgreSQL, including extensions and performance tuning
- Proficiency with Nix and flakes, plus Ansible, Packer, Docker, AWS and Kubernetes
- Experience building for multiple architectures, including Linux and macOS aarch64
- Comfort with builds across C/C++, Go, JavaScript and Rust projects
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including customers
Nice to have
- Experience mentoring engineers on Nix-based work
- Experience integrating emerging features into managed hosted platforms
