The role
Supabase is building a performance team and wants engineers who can trace bottlenecks across its Postgres platform and land measured improvements. You'll be one of the first members, helping define how performance engineering works there.
What you'll do
- Find bottlenecks in live production systems and characterize them precisely
- Partner with database and infra teams to land performance improvements
- Build performance methodologies and tooling that turn production data into insight
- Work with the observability team on a unified view of platform performance
- Help teams self-serve performance analysis
What they're looking for
- Deep experience analysing performance of complex distributed systems
- Depth in Linux kernel internals or database internals
- Knowledge of TCP behavior, network virtualization and AWS performance limits
- Track record turning performance findings into shipped fixes across teams
- Strong written communication, with precise, reproducible problem write-ups
