The role
Chromatic is hiring a senior engineer to join the Storybook maintainers team, working on core APIs, open-source triage and agentic workflows. You'll work asynchronously with a distributed team and engage with the developer community.
What you'll do
- Contribute to the Storybook codebase as a core maintainer
- Design and refine Storybook APIs for users, addon authors and maintainers
- Triage issues, review pull requests and write or review RFCs
- Create educational content that helps users get value from new features
- Join the engineering support rotation, mostly within business hours

- 5+ years building for the web with JavaScript/TypeScript or similar
- Experience building tooling, frameworks or libraries for developers
- Solid grasp of how modern web frameworks and build tools work
- Strong written and verbal English; comfortable working asynchronously
- Interest in engaging with developer communities

- Public talks, writing or videos
- Expertise beyond React, such as Web Components, Angular or React Native
- Experience with agentic tools, Storybook or Chromatic
