The role
Gramian Consulting needs a senior Rust engineer for an AI training project, solving and validating backend problems in APIs, concurrency and reliability. It's a contract of about 15 hours a week, open worldwide.
What you'll do
- Solve and validate Rust backend problems across APIs, persistence and concurrency
- Design and review backend architectures for scalability and production readiness
- Build reproducible test environments with Rust workspaces, databases and containers
- Write test cases covering edge cases, failure scenarios and reliability
- Debug complex backend issues and write clear technical explanations for AI training
What they're looking for
- Strong hands-on Rust, shown through professional, research or open-source work
- Solid grasp of backend service design, APIs and data persistence
- Async programming, concurrency and performance optimization in Rust
- Strong debugging and clear written English
- About 15 hours a week and ability to start within 24-48 hours of onboarding
