The role
Correlation One needs a Somali- and English-speaking TA for the Data Annotation track of a virtual training-to-jobs program for young people in Somalia. You'll support a small group of learners, grade their labeling projects and flag anyone falling behind.
What you'll do
- Answer learner questions on Pumble or Slack within 24 hours
- Facilitate breakout rooms and hands-on labeling practice in live sessions
- Grade labeling exercises and projects within seven days, with clear feedback
- Hold weekly office hours and record short video walkthroughs
- Submit weekly progress write-ups and flag struggling learners early
What they're looking for
Must-haves
- Professional proficiency in Somali and English, spoken and written
- 3+ years in data annotation, labeling, AI training data or data quality
- Experience with multimodal labeling and AI output evaluation
- Hands-on experience with annotation and labeling platforms
- Comfortable working virtually with Zoom, Pumble or Slack
Nice to have
- Teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience with adult learners
- AWS Certified AI Practitioner or equivalent AI certification
- Arabic and familiarity with Maay, plus knowledge of the Somali context
