The role
Correlation One needs a Somali-speaking Teaching Assistant for the Data Analytics track of a virtual training-to-jobs program for young people in Somalia. You'll support a small group of learners, grade their work and flag anyone falling behind.
What you'll do
- Answer learner questions on Pumble or Slack within 24 hours
- Facilitate breakout rooms and support live sessions in English and Somali
- Hold weekly office hours and grade projects within seven days
- Record video walkthroughs for asynchronous assignments
- Flag struggling learners early and submit a weekly progress write-up
What they're looking for
Must-haves
- Professional proficiency in both Somali and English, spoken and written
- 3+ years in data analytics, business intelligence or a related role
- Excel, SQL, Python (pandas) and Tableau or Power BI, with the ability to explain them
- Experience working in a fully virtual environment with Zoom and Slack
- Patience and empathy for learners new to data analytics
Nice to have
- Prior teaching, tutoring or mentoring of adult learners
- Analytics certification such as PL-300 or Google Data Analytics
- Arabic and Maay alongside standard Somali
